All over the world, the refrain is the same, “They don’t respond to my emails and I can’t get them on the phone.”
Exactly! Well-meaning but less-than-compelling emails are ignored or deleted. And phone calls? It’s sad to say but only 3% of voice messages are returned (2016 data).
You’ve probably also read the research that shows positive emails enjoy a 15% higher response rate than those perceived to be more neutral light (and let’s not even talk about emails that are negative and don’t help buyers feel safe and smart!). Combine that fact with USC’s Viterbi School of Engineering research proving that 34% of emails are opened and read but, wait for it…. only 3% of those receive response!
