“Open to a conversation?”

Did you have a visceral reaction to that sales-y ask?

Who speaks that way?

The way to create action in a prospecting email now is to:
Create a positive emotion in your buyer.
Give them a logical reason to want to take the next step.
Make the next step easy and authentic.
Remind them of the outcome they can expect. (The “delighter”)

What would you say to ask a semi-interested person, based on what you’ve already said in your email, to take a next step? “Open to a conversation?” Not!

How about:
Could there be value for you in talking about possibilities?
Does this sound like something that might work?
Would you like more information?
Is your interest piqued?
What else would you like to know?
Could this help accomplish X?

Then, use the transitional magic words…”If so,”… and make the respectful ask.

Stop with fake, scripted stuff.
